Welcome to Sam Barth Stables
Sam Barth and Carrie Rudeen are "Co-operators" of what has grown to become one of the most complete training and showing locations in the Upper Midwest. Both of them have extensive backgrounds in the equine industry and bring complimentary talents together to train and finish the miniature show horse.
About Sam
Sam has his roots in the equine world - riding at his first horse show at 8 years of age. As a youngster Sam road western horses in pleasure and games. Over the years, in addition to running the family business, Sam's father bought and sold prospective western riding horses and Sam often accompanied his father to these local horse sales. After graduation, Sam did active duty in Vietnam, where his enthusiasm for training horses never diminished. Sam returned home and spent the next several years on the rodeo circuit calf roping and bull-dogging. Due to work related job transfers, somehow Sam found himself in the "Hills of Tennessee" where he developed his passion for training and presenting the gaited horse.
About Carrie
Carrie grew up in the cities but spent a lot of time riding horses at her Uncle's farm in northern Minnesota. Her first horse was a small western pleasure quarter horse named "Silver C Savage". She road Savage quite a bit until the arrival of her first son Darren. Later on she had Morgan horses and was an active member of the St. Croix Horse and Carriage Society. She bought her first small equine in 1985 - a small shetland mare named "OakWood Cabrit" - affectionately called "Tinker". Tinker was born in 1975 and just passed away this past winter. Traveling across the nation to acquire some of the nation's most sought after pedigrees, spending countless hours researching bloodlines and their inherent characteristics, Carrie has developed a very successful breeding program. Continual monitoring of our breeding stock with the fast evolution and progression of the breed has helped us remain successful and competitive. So, whether you're looking for a mini to do halter, performance, or both..... you can find that horse at Sam Barth Stables.
About Our Horses
There is a great opportunity pending for many miniature horse enthusiasts to purchase top quality horses from a very established and yet progressive breeding program. As we turn our attention to training and presentation - our horses can put you in the winner's circle! The horses we are offering have history of producing show ring winners! - Our miniature horses will excel in either halter or performance - and are often very capable in both arenas. Many of our broodmares are offered with foals at their side and bred back for 2010 - at prices lower than we paid for the mare alone! Come and see the quality of our 2009 foals and you will realise that our mares are almost guaranteed to produce for you too!
Most of the horses we present in the show ring have been born right here - and now these horses are available for purchase at very reasonable prices. Exceptional package deals.... We promise you "integrity selling" and we believe the horses are everything we profess them to be! If you are even considering a new horse - come and "talk to us" about the horses we have to offer. No need to go "out state" for your next stallion, filly, mare, gelding, show prospect - whatever. For those of you that want "color" included in the deal - we have that too.... How about a super refined golden palomino yearling appaloosa stallion? Prefer solid - with chrome - or pinto? Give us a call!
